Greater Shepparton City Council is calling for submissions to the Shepparton Railway Station Pedestrian Overpass Concept Plan, October 2018 and the Shepparton Railway Station Shared Pathway Linkages Concept Plan, June 2018.
The exhibition period is open until 18 February 2019.
The Concept Plans are the first step towards realising the Shepparton Railway Precinct Master Plan 2017, a key part of the Shepparton CBD Revitalisation Project which has also delivered the Shepparton Court Precinct Development, and the Vaughan Street and Maude Street Redevelopment.
The Project aims to cement the city as the major industry, employment and service hub for the Hume region, providing construction and permanent employment opportunities, drawing private sector investment and new businesses to the region, and increasing Shepparton’s amenity and liveability for current and future residents.
Implementation of a pedestrian overpass will be funded through investment by the State Government, creating an attractive and practical gateway into Shepparton, and promoting the regeneration of an under-utilised area.
The Shared Pathway Linkages Plan aims to contribute to ease of wayfinding between key destinations to enhance tourism, as well as providing residents with safe and convenient access to local facilities and services, encouraging active transport modes.
In preparing Concept Plans, Council is seeking to better understand the opportunities and constraints of the proposed projects, and is keen to hear ideas and feedback from all interested residents, businesses and organisations.
Submissions can be made by post to Greater Shepparton City Council, Locked Bag 1000, Shepparton VIC 3632, by emailing council@shepparton.vic.gov.au, or via the online form on at the link below.
For more information on the Shepparton Railway Station Pedestrian Overpass and Shared Pathway Linkages, contact Council’s Strategic Planning Team on (03) 5832 9730, or click here.
