Free street party in Maude Street this Saturday!

Works are complete on Maude Street Redevelopment and Greater Shepparton City Council are hosting a street party to celebrate.

The street party is free with entertainment for all including kids’ activities, live music, street performers and a Ferris Wheel.

The works, which were completed in four stages, began in January 2019 and were finished last month.

The project includes the public facilities, bus interchange and new roadway including traffic signals at the intersection of Vaughan Street and Maude Street as well as drainage, electrical and gas upgrades.

Each stage of the works was funded by various sources including Australian Government Building Better Regions Fund, Public Transport Victoria, VicRoads, the Victorian Government’s Public Safety Infrastructure Fund and Council.

Greater Shepparton City Council Acting Director Infrastructure, Tim Zak is excited to celebrate the completion of the project with the community.

“We are pleased with the outcome of the Maude Street Redevelopment project. The space is vibrant, safe and welcoming.

“We’ve had positive feedback from retailers and traders in the area as well as shoppers,” he said.

Council would like to thank the shop owners that were impacted by the works and the community for their patience throughout the project.

Head down to Maude Street, between Vaughan Street and High Street, this Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm. Check out the new streetscape and support local retailers and traders.

Complimentary parking is available in the CBD until February 2022.
