Get ready for a cultural weekend at Converge on the Goulburn 2024

Converge on the Goulburn 2024 is coming! On Friday 12 and Saturday 13 April, the much loved multicultural and First Nation’s festival commences in Greater Shepparton.

Community members and visitors are invited to join the two-day celebration and immerse themselves in the many cultural festivities, delicious food, colours, music and flavours on display at Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton.

Partnering with the Shepparton Festival to bring together an outstanding stage, Converge on the Goulburn will feature an extended event program with more experiences, stories, and activities for everyone to enjoy. 

Leading up to an amazing weekend, Friday morning will see the Children’s Food Bowl Festival at Victoria Park Lake. A free event celebrating the nourishing produce found in the Goulburn Valley. This family-centered festival will be showcasing the journey from farm to table, engaging children and wholesome foods in an exciting and educational way.

Continuing with a fun packed day for the younger members of the community, Friday night at Converge on the Goulburn will feature an array of youth activations and performances from 5pm to 9pm.

On Saturday from 5pm to 9pm, a variety of music presentations and performances will take over. Showcasing the exciting and diverse cultural range of art, food and traditions that make our region such an amazing place.

A special martial arts demonstration called “Kamitakane no bo-no-te” from our sister city Toyoake City, Japan will also be taking place on both Friday and Saturday night.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the festival is a great opportunity to bring the community together, invite our extended families and friends and celebrate our diverse region.

“Converge on the Goulburn is a truly unique festival for the region and the state, focusing on our people, culture and way of life,” he said.

“I highly encourage everyone to attend, sample some delicious food, have a great time and join this wonderful celebration. This is the perfect occasion to showcase our community. Invite your friends and family over, especially those who live outside Greater Shepparton.”
