Goyen Reserve Car Park Construction

Greater Shepparton City Council will begin works to construct formal car parking spaces and footpath at Goyen Reserve as part of the Princess Park Recreation Reserve Master Plan to improve the accessibility, aesthetic appearance and utilisation of public space.

Works commenced on Tuesday 24 November. It is anticipated that the works will continue for approximately eight weeks and are expected to be completed during January 2021. The contract has been awarded to Miller Pipe & Civil Pty Ltd and includes construction of drainage, road pavement, concreting, public lighting and minor landscaping.

Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Phil Hoare said “it is great to see works beginning on another part of the Princess Park Master Plan. This part of Princess Park has been used informally for car parking and these works will improve the look and accessibility of the area”.

“Goyen Reserve will be retained as a green open space for social park activities, from which the adjacent proposed works will create all-weather accessible parking for the reserve, Shepparton Italian Social Club and overflow CBD parking.” said Mr Hoare.
