Greater Shepparton will take centre stage from Tuesday 22 July as it hosts the highly anticipated 2025 Victorian Tourism Summit and Top Tourism Town Awards Ceremony, welcoming visitor economy professionals from across the state.
In Summary
Delivered by the Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) with support from the Victorian Government, Greater Shepparton City Council is proud to welcome delegates from across the state.
The Victorian Tourism Summit brings together key stakeholders from across the state for a dynamic program of panels, presentations, and networking opportunities at Riverlinks Eastbank.
The three day program begins with immersive study tours designed to showcase Greater Shepparton’s unique attractions to frontline Visitor Servicing staff. This will be followed by a welcome event at the Shepparton Art Museum, featuring private access to the breathtaking Brett Whiteley exhibition.
Adding to the excitement of the three day program is the prestigious Top Tourism Town Awards on Wednesday 23 July, hosted at the Museum of Vehicle Evolution, with Shepparton proudly nominated for a Top Tourism Town award.
Acting Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Gayle Tierney, welcomed the event, highlighting its positive impact on the Greater Shepparton region.
“We’re proud to support this event in Shepparton, which provides a valuable opportunity for tourism professionals while boosting local jobs and businesses.”
Greater Shepparton Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, has noted the significance of the event and acknowledged it as a great opportunity for the region.
“We are looking forward to welcoming industry from across the state for the Victorian Tourism Summit. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase the region to those who speak directly with people from Australia and around the world,” he said.
“Hosting this summit will deliver great economic benefits to our local community, with over 200 attendees expected. It also offers our local industry participants the chance to gain new skills through engaging workshops and connect with peers from the wider tourism network.”
Chris Porter, Acting Chief Executive of Victoria Tourism Industry Council said they are delighted to bring the Victorian Tourism Summit and Top Tourism Town Awards to Shepparton.
“Shepparton is a dynamic destination with a thriving arts scene, rich cultural heritage, and a strong commitment to the visitor experience,” he said.
“Hosting this event here allows us to shine a spotlight on everything the region has to offer, while fostering valuable connections among tourism professionals from across Victoria.”
