The delegation also included members from the Committee for Greater Shepparton, the Lighthouse Project, Kaiela Institute and business and education representatives.
Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting last Tuesday endorsed the Greater Shepparton City Deal and the state government election Ask of Government as key advocacy documents for the region.
The documents clearly articulate our priorities for Greater Shepparton in the lead up to the State Election and to leverage from the Federal Government’s City Deal Program.
Eight transformational projects have been selected for City Deal funding:
- Rail (Passenger, Inland Freight and Fast Rail)
- Goulburn Valley Highway Shepparton Bypass - Stage One
- CBD Revitalisation - Maude Street Mall
- Shepparton Sports and Events Centre (Shepparton Sports Stadium)
- The Munarra Centre for Regional Excellence
- GV Link - Stage One
- La Trobe University - Shepparton Campus Expansion
- Goulburn Valley Health - Stage 2 Development and Corio Street Campus ranging from the GV Highway Bypass, the Shepparton Sports and Event Centre, CBD Transformation, GV Link and improved rail services and infrastructure.
