Late yesterday Council on call duty officers were busy working with the Mooroopna CFA team attending to a car fire.
At 4.30pm the on call duty officers attended the car fire in a private driveway where leaking fuel mixed with water needed to be stopped from entering the storm water drain.
The Mooroopna CFA created a bank of dirt to hold it back in the gutter and Council’s street sweeper team were called to suck up the fuel water mix and clean up the site.
Within 1 ½ hours the site was clean and back to normal and the council team were able to divert contaminated fuel entering the drainage system which would have made it into our river system.
