In Summary

  • Final chance to provide feedback – Consultation on Greater Shepparton City Council’s Asset Plan closes at midnight on Friday 21 March 2025.
  • Help shape future asset management – The plan guides the management of nearly $2 billion in assets, including roads, playgrounds, community buildings and open spaces.
  • Wide range of assets covered – The plan includes infrastructure such as transport networks, stormwater systems, open spaces and community facilities.
  • Easy ways to have your say – Feedback can be submitted online here or via hard copy at the Council’s Customer Service Counter.

Council is encouraging the community to provide input on how its almost $2 billion worth of assets should be managed into the future. The Asset Plan guides the service levels for essential infrastructure such as roads, playgrounds, community buildings, drainage, and open spaces, ensuring they meet the needs of our growing population.

Council’s Director Infrastructure, Gary Randhawa, urged the community to take this final opportunity to contribute.

“This is your chance to have a say on how Council manages assets that impact your daily life. We want to hear what is important to you and what you think should be prioritised,” Mr Randhawa said.

“Our community relies on these assets every day, whether it is the roads we drive on, the parks we enjoy, or the facilities we use. This is an important opportunity to influence how Council plans for the future.”

The Asset Plan covers:

  • Open space areas including playing courts and fields, playground sites, trees, open space structures and open space areas.
  • Buildings including child care, senior citizen and community centres, public toilets, pools and shade sails.
  • Transport including roads (sealed and unsealed), kerb, pathways, bridges, culverts, traffic management devices, carparks, and road line-markings.
  • Stormwater including stormwater drains and pits, pumps, penstocks, gross pollutant traps, litter traps and drainage basins.

Feedback can be submitted online at shepp.city/assetplan until midnight on Friday 21 March 2025.  Hard copy surveys are also available at Council’s Customer Service Counter at 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton.
