The Shepparton Italian Festa is a new free family friendly community event that will celebrate Italian culture with fun filled entertainment by local performers, great traditional food, music, dancing, carnival rides, sideshow attractions and not forgetting an epic display of fireworks!
The Italian Festa will take place on Saturday 14 April and everyone is invited to be part of the festivities. This is the first time the event will be held at the Shepparton Showgrounds.
This year you can learn and dance the Tarantella to music being played by Antonio Caruso on the Organetto. Tony Pantano will be the MC for the day with other entertainers including Rustica Project, Forza Italia Show Band Anthony Petrucci, Italian Choir The Voce Della Luna, Romans Roving Entertainers, Comedian James Liotta, Sylvana Bonacci and listen to Shepparton born Dean Canan.
A variety of Italian food will be available onsite. Greater Shepparton City Council’s Mayor Kim O’Keeffe encourages everyone to come along to celebrate this fabulous Italian Festa. “This event will be another great addition to our major events calendar with the potential to grow into an iconic festival for the region generating strong visitation and economic benefits for the region”
“We are so fortunate to live in Greater Shepparton to be able to celebrate diverse cultures within our community with events like this.”
“I am sure there will be something for everyone to enjoy at the Italian Festa whether food or entertainment. So pop on down to the Shepparton Showgrounds for a great family friendly day out,” suggests Ms O’Keeffe.
Italian Festa Committee member Vince Sicali said “The Shepparton Italian Social Club are excited to be bringing a “Taste of Italy” to Shepparton on this our Inaugural event. So why not come down and be an Italian for the day” said Mr Sicali.
