Land in Tatura targeted for environmental testing

VicTrack and environmental firm BlueSphere Environmental are carrying out routine environmental testing on land at the corner of Hogan and Casey Streets, Tatura, opposite Apex Park.

One groundwater monitoring well will be installed at the corner of Hogan and Thomson Streets and 13 groundwater monitoring wells will be sampled on either VicTrack or Council owned land.

VicTrack conducts numerous environmental assessments across railway land in Victoria. These assessments are part of a proactive program to monitor, manage and clean-up railway land. Tests and sampling works are carried out by experienced staff working under EPA standards.

  • Planned works – 7am to 5pm, Monday 19 February & Tuesday 20 February 2018
  • Planned works – 7am to 5pm, Monday 26 February - Friday 2 March 2018

These works are being carried out to investigate legacy pollution on the land and will only consider the current rail use of the land, and not future use.

Minimising impact of works

Work zones will be identified by safety signage and have been timed to minimise impact on the community. Please observe safety signage and instructions. VicTrack apologises for any inconvenience or disturbance that these works may cause.
