Spiire is conducting a workshop on the Maude Street Mall to incorporate feedback from key stakeholders as part of the contracted works to undertake design options for the redevelopment of the space.
The contracted works include conceptual design of three redevelopment options as well as detailed design of a trial of traffic and parking. The three redevelopment options include two way traffic from Fryers Street to High Street; one-way traffic from Fryers Street and High Street exiting at Stewart Street; or retention of the Mall as a pedestrianised space with new amenity and infrastructure upgrades.
Key stakeholders have been identified and invited to the workshop. These stakeholders include business and industry; local traders; environmental groups; multicultural groups; community groups; property owners, and developers.
The results from the workshop will be presented to the Council and will contribute towards the ongoing development of the designs.
Once the designs are completed they will be taken to a broader public consultation process before a decision is made regarding the future of the Mall.
The contracted design works are due to be completed by April 2018.
