Mayor and CEO meet with Federal Minister

Greater Shepparton City Council CEO Peter Harriott and Mayor Dinny Adem met with the Federal Agriculture and Water Minister Barnaby Joyce this morning to talk about priorities for the region.

Cr Adem said they discussed the seven transformational projects for the region inlcuding water, inland rail and radiotherapy services for GV Health.

Minister Joyce was presented with Council's Priority Transformation Projects publication which details the important projects needed for our region to progress economically including:

  • Water Security for Irrigated Agriculture
  • A New SAM
  • Goulburn Valley Highway Shepparton Bypass
  • Goulburn Valley Health Radiotherapy Services
  • Improved Passenger Rail Services between Shepparton and Melbourne
  • High Speed Rail - Sydney to Melbourne via Shepparton
  • Food Bowl Inland Rail Route
