Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting residents to celebrate Naidoc Week, with a number of events taking place.
NAIDOC celebrations are held around Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative will hold a flag raising ceremony and breakfast on Monday 8 July and a Family Day at SPC Ardmona KidsTown on Thursday 11 July.
Greater Shepparton Mayor Jenny Houlihan said NAIDOC Week gives our community another opportunity to acknowledge the strong Aboriginal cultural and social heritage that is such a feature of Greater Shepparton.
"I encourage our community members to celebrate NAIDOC Week by attending these fantastic events," Cr Houlihan said.
