The shade sails were made possible through the advocacy of the Community Planning Committee and broader community, funded in Council’s 2016/17 budget.
Due to its central location and family friendly facilities, Ferrari Park has been long identified as a community asset for Mooroopna, heavily utilised by local children, young people, families and community throughout the year.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Community Kaye Thomson said the provision of shade sails maximises the opportunity for the community to use the playground in all seasons and conditions and protects children and supervising adults from over exposure to UV radiation.
“Council is very proud to be able to work with the Mooroopna Community Plan Committee on not only this project but a number of projects over the past few years. Thank you to the Committee and community on your involvement in bringing this project to fruition,” said Ms Thomson.
