New water tank for kinder from Landcare grant

Patrica Smith Kindergarten at 38 Packham Street, Shepparton are having a working bee on Sunday 14 June from 9.30am to install a new water tank which was received through a Coles Landcare grant in 2014.

The Kinder received the funding from the Coles Junior Landcare Grant to teach the children about water conservation. The kinder is organising the working bee for the families to be involved in the installation of the tank on Sunday.

The Coles Junior Landcare Garden Grants program has been providing grants of up to $1,000 to schools and youth groups to help create gardens in their grounds or community, such as bush tucker gardens, water wise gardens or veggie gardens.

These programs encourage students to learn about the environment through “outdoor learning” and interaction in developing their own school gardens.
