The Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, Natalie Hutchins, has launched the 7th Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll roadshow at the Gathering Place in Morwell in which the opening of the 2017 Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll nominations was announced.
The Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll acknowledges and celebrates the wide ranging achievements of Aboriginal Victorians, past and present.
The Honour Roll recognises Aboriginal people who have made a real and lasting contribution to their community and to Victoria, in areas such as health, education, sport, arts, military service and community leadership.
To date 89 truly outstanding people have been inducted and their inspiring life stories are presented in the Honour Roll book which is on permanent display in the Victorian Parliament recording their legacy for future generations.
The closing date for nominations is 5pm Friday 7 July 2017.
