Greater Shepparton City Council is calling for nominations from local residents for the Greater Shepparton Disability Advisory Committee.
The committee represents people from a broad range of backgrounds and provides advice and assistance for a range of Council activities, including ways to promote Access and Inclusion within the City of Greater Shepparton.
The committee consists of people with disabilities, Industry service providers and a nominated Councillor. Council staff provide administration support for the committee.
Council’s Manager Neighbourhoods Amanda Tingay said there is one community representative position available on the committee.
“This is a great opportunity for people to actively contribute to positive changes relating to disability in our community.”
“Committee members meet at least 10 times per year from February to December each year.” said Ms Tingay.
“The committee advises Council on a number of different items including the broad issue of disability in the community.”
Nominations for appointment to the committee will be received until 5pm, Friday 25 January 2019.
Nomination forms and more information are available on the Council’s website here, the Council office, 90 Welsford Street Shepparton. Verbal nominations can also be made by contacting Access and Inclusion Officer on (03) 5832 9700.
