Public feedback sought on concept designs for Maude Street Mall

At the May Ordinary Council Meeting held last night, Council adopted four completed conceptual designs for a redevelopment of the Maude Street Mall area and resolved to release the designs to the community for feedback via a public consultation.

The designs have been completed by Spiire and provide four options for a redeveloped Mall including leaving the mall closed, opening it to two way traffic and two options for one way traffic. In all options the Mall would be significantly upgraded and improved.

The consultation opens on Wednesday 16 May and consists of an online survey where participants are asked to describe what they like or dislike about each of the designs. The feedback will be collated and presented to Councillors to assist them in determining the next steps for the Maude Street Mall.

Greater Shepparton Deputy Mayor Cr Seema Abdullah said “I encourage the community to take part in the consultation and complete the survey in order to provide their feedback on this significant project.”

The four concept designs and survey can be found on Council’s website at www.greatershepparton.com.au and will be displayed at Council’s Welsford Street office as well as the Think CBD Office located at Shop 5 in the Tower Arcade, Maude Street Mall.

There will be community information sessions held at 12:30pm Monday 28 May and 6:00pm Tuesday 29 May at the Senior Citizens Centre, 132 Welsford Street, Shepparton. Office hours for the Think CBD office vary, please see the website for more information.
