The Victorian Skatepark League (VSL) is coming to Greater Shepparton for the Shepparton heat of the Loddon Mallee and Hume Series (LMHS).
The Shepparton heat, to be held on 14 September from 10.30am, is one of eight events in the LMHS, and will feature scooter, BMX, and skate competitions.
Each regional series of the VSL is preceded by a workshop for interested young people, providing training and experience in event management, risk management, judging, officiating and promotions.
The growing network of young volunteers ensures the success and longevity of the VSL, further enriching the skatepark user communities.
YMCA Victoria’s Youth Action Sports Unit in conjunction with the Victorian Skateboarding Association (VSA) run 47 events a year, making up the Victorian Skate Park League – the biggest and most established grass roots skate and BMX series in Australia.
The Shepparton heat has been brought to life through a partnership between YMCA Victoria’s Youth Action Sports Unit, The Victorian Skatepark League, Victorian Skateboarding Association, Greater Shepparton City Council and supported by Headspace and Berry Street.
Other major sponsors of the Loddon Mallee and Hume Series are Darkstar (Skate), Almost (Skate), Tensor (Skate), Goliath (Skate), Protec (Helmets), Dekline (Shoes), Colony (BMX), S&M (BMX), Freeza (youth programs), Outdoor Tech (entertainment), Rampfest (indoor park) and the following associated Shires and Councils; Gannawarra Shire, City of Greater Bendigo, Wodonga Rural City, Rural City of Wangaratta, Mildura Rural City Council, Swan Hill Rural City Council, Murray Shire Council, and Campaspe Shire Council.
For more information regarding the event, please contact Kieran Ryan Volunteer Coordinator for YMCA Victoria Youth Action Sports via email kieran.ryan@ymca.org.au or phone 0412 077 811
