Street Rider Night Bus Service will be running on Christmas Day (Sunday 25 December) and New Year’s Day and (Sunday 1 January 2017)
Greater Shepparton City Council’s Manager Neighbourhoods Amanda Tingay said with people out celebrating the festive season, it was important there were options for people to get home safely.
“It’s the time of the year when we’re all out and about, having fun and catching up with friends at restaurants, hotels and clubs,” Ms Tingay said.
“The Street Rider bus service is a great way for people to get home safely after a night out and operates in conjunction with our other Community Safety initiatives including the Safer City Camera Network.
“Street Rider will operate from 12 midnight until 4am, with last pickups at 3.30am. As normal, the bus will be picking up from the Hotel Australia, GV Hotel, Yahoo Bar and out the front of Harris Scarf on Wyndham Street and drop you off to your door in Shepparton, Kialla or Mooroopna.”
Street Rider will not operate on Sunday 8 January.
The service is coordinated by Council and Shepparton Victoria Police and is supported locally by the following businesses:+1 Group , Community Accessibility, Quality Teams, Shepparton Rotary Club, The Fairley Foundation, Bullion Bar, Aussie Hotel, Yahoo Bar, The Vic Hotel,, The Deck, GV Hotel, Standby Security, Southern Cross Media and Willprint.
