Greater Shepparton City Council, through its destination brand Shepparton & Goulburn Valley, is excited to announce a new addition to the Moooving Art herd.
In Summary
Painted by artist Christiano ‘Dery’ Theodorus, the cow was inspired by the new and old Shepparton. Featuring the old post office, the Dutch windmill, as well as some modern developments such as the Museum of Vehicle Evolution (MOVE) and Shepparton Art Museum (SAM), whilst showcasing the diversity of people in the region along with the native flora and fauna.
Born in Indonesia and local to Shepparton since 2014, Christiano’s artwork can be found on several murals across the municipality, and will now be showcased as part of the Moooving Art herd as well.
Shepparton & Goulburn Valley is seeking help from community members and visitors to name the newest addition to the herd. Name suggestions can be submitted via the @SheppandGV socials or by emailing digital@sheppandgv.com.au by Friday 31 May 2024.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, invited the community to get on board and help Council’s destination brand find a name for the new cow.
“We encourage locals and visitors to leave a mark in the community and help our destination brand Shepparton & Goulburn Valley to find the perfect name for the newest addition to the herd,” he said.
“We invite the community to explore our region and take the time to see all of the wonderful Moooving Art cows.”
The Moooving Art cows are an iconic part of the Shepparton and Goulburn Valley landscape. With over 90 cows painted by local artists scattered throughout the municipality, the art herd is a celebration of our culturally diverse and inspiring region whilst paying homage to the strength of the dairy industry in Shepparton and Goulburn Valley.
Residents and visitors are invited to meet the new cow currently located at the SAM Precinct, 530 Wyndham Street, Shepparton.
