Road closure and detour for continued water and sewer main relocation – Doyles Road-Midland Highway intersection, Shepparton East
VicRoads would like to advise the community that due to continuing water and sewer main relocation works there will be changes to traffic conditions in the surrounding areas of the Doyles Road-Midland Highway intersection.
From Monday 19 October 2015, Doyles Road will be closed between the Midland Highway and Poplar Avenue. Arrangements will be made for local traffic on this section of road.
Traffic travelling north-bound on Doyles Road to the intersection will be detoured right onto Poplar Avenue through to Central Avenue, left onto the Midland Highway with access back onto Doyles Road at the existing roundabout.
Traffic travelling south-bound on Doyles Road will be detoured left at the intersection onto the Midland Highway, and then right onto Central Avenue through to Popular Avenue, and then back onto Doyles Road.
There is no effect to traffic travelling in either direction along the Midland Highway through the intersection.
Signage and tempory traffic signals will be in place at the intersection of Poplar and Orrvale Roads, Poplar Road and Central Avenue, and Central Avenue and Midland Highway to direct traffic. Speed limits will be reduced to 40 km/h in some sections of the detour.
These changed traffic conditions are anticipated to be in place until the evening of Friday, 23 October 2015.
VicRoads thanks the community for their patience while these works are carried out, and asks motorists to be aware of workers and machinery at the site for their own safety and for the safety of staff.
For enquiries or more information about the project or traffic management during these works, please contact VicRoads on phone 13 11 70 or email ner.doymidround@roads.vic.gov.au
