Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting the community to come along for a twilight stroll, leaving from either Shepparton or Mooroopna, to SPC Ardmona KidsTown on Friday 18 October.
Registration for the free event is from 5pm and the stroll starts at 5.30pm, with shuttle buses available for the return trip, from 6.30pm.
Participants can leave either from Chinaman's Gardens in Mooroopna or from Aquamoves.
Council's Leisure Facilities Officer Carmen Nicholson said there would be entertainment for the whole family at KidsTown.
"The twilight stroll is a fantastic way for families to get active together," Ms Nicholson said.
"When arriving at KidsTown, there will be live music and a barbecue dinner, as well a jumping castle for the kids, RiverConnect activities and miniature train rides, all provided free of charge.
"All members of the family can take part - the kids can bring along their bikes or scooters and parents can bring small children in prams.
"It's only a short 2km stroll through the bush to KidsTown, so anyone with any level of fitness can participate and for those taking part in the pedometer challenge, it's a fantastic way to boost your step numbers!
"This year the Shepparton Relay for Life committee will be coming along to promote their event that will be held the next day."
Participants are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket to relax on and enjoy the entertainment.
The event is part of the Council's Activities in the Park program that provides over 150 free events to the community between October and March.
