With the installation of the new water main completed, Council’s contractors have been working with Goulburn Valley Water to coordinate decommissioning of the old water main and switching over to the new ones.
Works will continue on Monday 13 May 2019 to shut down one of the remaining old water mains and switch over to the new infrastructure. Properties affected will be contacted directly by Goulburn Valley Water in accordance with their usual practices.
Traffic management will be in place from 12.00pm until approximately 4:30pm with traffic flowing through the intersection in each direction at a restricted speed. Please be aware of the changed conditions and comply with the signage and traffic management on the day.
Funding announced
Recognising the importance of the works to upgrade the Balaclava / Verney/ New Dookie Roads / Hawdon Street intersection, Regional Roads Victoria (previously known as VicRoads) announced on Wednesday 8 May 2019 that they will be providing $1 million in funding towards the works through Round 2 of the Fixing Country Roads Program.
Greater Shepparton City Council is grateful for the support of Regional Roads Victoria and look forward to awarding the contract and progressing the delivery of this vital project.
