Greater Shepparton City Council would like to advise that Watt Road will be closed, between McLennan Street (Midland Highway), Mooroopna and Riverview Drive, Kialla, on Monday, 11 April and Tuesday 12, April 2022 for planned maintenance works.
The works are scheduled to be undertaken between 9am and 4pm on both days. Watt Road Bridge will be closed to through traffic, including pedestrian access across the bridge, during these works. Traffic will be detoured via the Midland Highway and Goulburn Valley Highway.
The planned maintenance works are needed in preparation for upcoming asphalt surfacing works. The works have been scheduled to take place during the school holidays to try and minimise any disruption to local traffic.
Council requests that road users observe the detour signage and plan their trips to allow for the extra time required to travel between Mooroopna and Kialla via the major highways. The bridge and road will be reopened to traffic at 4pm on Tuesday, 12 April 2022.
Project updates and a traffic management plan will be available on Council’s Major Projects Page.
