- Roundabout replaced with traffic signals
The works will take place along Andrew Fairley Ave, Lockwood Rd and Old Dookie Road and involve changing the roundabout to traffic signals.
There will be traffic signal controlled pedestrian crossings on all four legs as well as new footpaths and new sections of shared path providing greater safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
The works will involve the removal of the existing roundabout and significant road rework to cater for heavy vehicles, line marking and upgraded street lighting.
There will be periods of time when parts of the intersection will be closed however access to SPC and local businesses will be maintained. Businesses within the affected area will have access to their properties during the works; however, there will be some temporary changes to access as works progress.
Pedestrian access will be provided during the works; however access will alter as the works progress.
In addition to the works there will be some relocation and protection of a number of critical assets which run through this area including water mains, Telstra and power. Planned disruptions to services will be provided by the relevant service authorities to affected properties.
Waste collection will continue to be picked up regularly, however, collection locations may be altered for some residents/businesses and those affected will be notified accordingly.
