Affordable Housing feedback closes on Monday

If you are concerned about the lack of affordable housing in the region you have until Monday 2 December to have your say on Greater Shepparton City Council’s Draft Affordable Housing Strategy.

This Strategy is being developed to support disadvantaged households and to advocate for more affordable housing development.

The Strategy supports homeless and low-income households, funding from the State and Federal Governments, and Affordable Housing in new residential developments.

It also talks about shortfalls of housing such as one and two bedroom dwellings.

Future work will focus on young people, older people, women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and people with a disability who struggle to get affordable housing.

Comments and feedback can be submitted until 2 December 2019 on Council’s website, by mail to Greater Shepparton City Council, Locked Bag 1000, Shepparton VIC 3632, or by email.

Submissions can also be handed-in at Council reception, or placed in the after-hours mailbox next to the front doors of Council’s offices at 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton.
