Strong community support for the 32nd Annual Tatura 100 Lap Challenge

The 32nd Annual Tatura 100 Lap Challenge was held on Saturday 28 February 2026 at the Tatura Swimming Pool, raising $3,785 for Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Aged Care Facility.
Four individuals completed the full 100 laps, with additional teams of family and friends participating to collectively reach the challenge.
The event brought together swimmers, volunteers and supporters, with community contributions including refreshments, certificates and vouchers for participants.
The annual fundraiser highlights ongoing community support for local health services, with the next event scheduled for Saturday 27 February 2027.

Tatura swimmers once again showed strong community spirit through the event, raising an impressive $3,785 to support the local health services.

Four swimmers completed the full challenge individually, swimming 100 laps each: Joseph Conte, Alicia Wiffen, Scott Montgomery and Jill Clapperton.

Several teams of family and friends also took part, combining their efforts to reach 100 laps or more.

Aquamoves Centre Manager, Liliana Angeles said the event continues to demonstrate the strong community spirit that exists across the region.

“The 100 Lap Challenge is a wonderful example of our community coming together to support important local services like Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla,” she said.

“It is great to see swimmers of all ages getting involved at the Tatura Swimming Pool and supporting such a meaningful cause.”

Volunteers supported the event with morning tea and coffee for swimmers and supporters, while participants were presented with certificates from the hospital and vouchers from Tatura Hot Bread.

Tatura local and event volunteer Gary Whyte said the turnout and enthusiasm from participants and supporters was inspiring.

“It is fantastic to see the community come together each year to support Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla,” he said.

“The 100 Lap Challenge continues to show how much people care about these important local services and the role they play in the Tatura community.”

The Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Community Reference Group thanked the event organisers, volunteers, sponsors and supporters who helped make the day another successful and enjoyable fundraiser.

The Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla and the Tatura Swimming Pool continue to play an important role in the life of the town and the 100 Lap Challenge highlights the community’s willingness to support these valued local facilities.

The next 100 Lap Challenge will take place on Saturday 27 February 2027.
