New welcome sign for Dhurringile

The Dhurringile community recently welcomed a new town entry sign reflecting the history and culture of the local community, as identified in the Dhurringile Community Plan.

The Dhurringile community, including students of the local Primary School, came together to develop ideas and concepts to inspire the design, resulting in a sign with elements that best reflect the locality.

Features of the design include:

  • An emu: representing Dhurringile which is believed to be Indigenous for the crouching emu.
  • The colour blue: representing the local Primary School which celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2017.
  • The Mansion silhouette: representing the famous historic Mansion built in the area in 1877.

Other Greater Shepparton towns to recently welcome a new town entry sign include Shepparton East, Arcadia and Congupna as part of their relevant community plan.
