The Dhurringile community, including students of the local Primary School, came together to develop ideas and concepts to inspire the design, resulting in a sign with elements that best reflect the locality.
Features of the design include:
- An emu: representing Dhurringile which is believed to be Indigenous for the crouching emu.
- The colour blue: representing the local Primary School which celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2017.
- The Mansion silhouette: representing the famous historic Mansion built in the area in 1877.
Other Greater Shepparton towns to recently welcome a new town entry sign include Shepparton East, Arcadia and Congupna as part of their relevant community plan.
