Greater Shepparton City Council officially opened the Tallygaroopna men’s shed yesterday. This project was funded by the Federal and State Government, Department of Health and Human Services – Men’s Shed Grant, Council, Tallygaroopna Men’s Shed and other community organisations within Tallygaroopna.
The men’s shed was identified as a priority of the Tallygaroopna Community Plan. Members of Men’s Sheds come from all walks of life – the bond that unites them is that they are men with time on their hands and would like something meaningful to do with that time.
The Men’s Shed movement has now become one of the most powerful tools in addressing health and wellbeing and helping men to once again feel valued and productive members of our community.
A number of other community organisations have supported the project in various ways. These include Tallygaroopna Hall Committee, Tallygaroopna Lions Club, Tallygaroopna Primary School, Tallygaroopna Football and Netball Club and the Tallygaroopna Bowling Club who all provided valuable contributions towards this project.
