Kaiela Arts and SAM present: Maree Clarke Artist Talk
In this special talk, acclaimed First Nations artist Maree Clarke shares insights on her process, influences and collaborative approach to reviving dormant cultural knowledge. Clarke is the inaugural Kaiela Arts Editions artist, and will create a limited-edition work launching in May 2025.

Maree Clarke is a Yorta Yorta/Wamba Wamba/Mutti Mutti/Boonwurrung multi-disciplinary artist and curator who has contributed to the contemporary arts and First Nations cultural story for over thirty years.
Known for her open and collaborative approach, Maree is a pivotal figure in the reclamation and revivification of South-Eastern Aboriginal cultural material objects. She is nationally and internationally recognised for her work which is developed from extensive research into the history of culturally significant traditional objects and her cross-generational approach.
Kaiela Arts Editions is a new partnership project between Kaiela Arts and Spacecraft Melbourne. This event is co-presented with Shepparton Art Museum.
