Greater Shepparton City Council is reviewing its Asset Plan and is keen to know what the community regards as essential.
Council owns and manages almost $2 billion of assets and offers over 100 services to the community. Assets include different types of facilities, infrastructure and living assets and are grouped into four main infrastructure groups - transport, open spaces, buildings and stormwater.
The number of assets has increased as our city and towns expand, our population rises and new estates are built. Existing assets need to be maintained, replaced or disposed of when they reach the end of life.
“The Asset Plan defines service levels to the community and determines how our portfolio of assets is managed. The Asset Plan works with the Financial Plan to provide a balance between what is affordable and what is aspirational,” Council’s Director Infrastructure, Gary Randhawa said.
“The community are invited to have a say in the Asset Plan review by letting us know what is important to them and what they would like Council to focus on.”
