2026 Greater Shepparton Australia Day Events

Greater Shepparton City Council invites community members to attend the Greater Shepparton Australia Day events taking place throughout Greater Shepparton on Monday 26 January 2026.

In Summary

  • Australia Day events will be held across Shepparton, Mooroopna, Tatura, Dookie and Murchison on Monday 26 January 2026.
  • Each event will include guest speakers, entertainment, refreshments and local Australia Day Awards presentations.
  • The Shepparton event at Riverlinks Eastbank will also feature the overall Greater Shepparton municipality award winners.
  • Events are free to attend and will recognise residents who have made significant contributions to the Greater Shepparton community.

Events will be held in Shepparton, Mooroopna, Tatura, Dookie and Murchison, to bring community together and recognise residents who have made significant contributions throughout the year, provided exceptional service to the local area, or have positively impacted Greater Shepparton over many years.

The events will include guest speakers, entertainment, refreshments and the presentation of the 2026 Greater Shepparton Australia Day Awards. Each event will announce the award winners for their respective towns, whilst the Shepparton event will also present the overall Greater Shepparton municipality winners.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the Australia Day Awards provide a valuable opportunity for the community to come together to honour individuals who contribute positively to the region.

“Our region is fortunate to have so many people who give their time and skills to support others and strengthen their communities. It is important to take a moment to recognise their dedication while also celebrating our great country,” he said.

“These awards recognise the individuals whose dedication often goes unnoticed, people who work behind the scenes to make life better for those around them. We’re proud to celebrate their contributions at this year’s events across the region.”

The following events will take place across Greater Shepparton on Monday 26 January 2026:

MURCHISON

  • TIME: 8am - breakfast provided.
    9am - event commences.
  • LOCATION: Murchison Swimming Pool.

TATURA

  • TIME: 8.30am - bacon & egg breakfast provided.
    9.30am - event commences.
  • LOCATION: Victory Hall, 75/81 Hogan Street, Tatura. 

MOOROOPNA

  • TIME: 10.30am - event commences.
    12.30pm - BBQ/refreshments provided following conclusion of event.
  • LOCATION: Ferrari Park, Mooroopna.

DOOKIE

  • TIME: 12pm - BBQ provided.
    12.30pm - event commences.
  • LOCATION: CWA Gardens and the Dookie Youth Spot, Mary Street, Dookie. 

SHEPPARTON

  • TIME: 2pm - event commences.
    Afternoon tea provided following conclusion of event.
  • LOCATION: Riverlinks Eastbank, Welsford Street, Shepparton. 
  • This event will also include the overall Greater Shepparton municipality winners
