At the November Ordinary Council Meeting the documents - Creating the New Face of Regional Australia and Creating the New Face of Regional Victoria for Federal and State governments respectively – were supported by the Council.
Both documents focus on a range of important projects including the Bypass, Maude Street Mall redevelopment, passenger rail improvements and support for health and education projects.
A delegation, including the Mayor and CEO, travelled to Canberra on Wednesday 23 October and presented Creating the New Face of Regional Australia to the Prime Minister and various politicians which was well received.
Council will organise more meetings with relevant Ministers and Shadow Ministers to advocate for infrastructure and policy needs on behalf of the municipality.

Both documents also outline a number of policy areas where intervention is required including water, the environment, truth telling, leaving no one behind, Federal and State Cooperation, education and workforce attraction.
