Amendment C193 Part 1 applies the Public Acquisition Overlay (PAO23) to part of 221-229 Numurkah Road, part of 38-50 Ford Road and part of 25 Hawkins Road, Shepparton.
To better ensure the safety of future development in the Shepparton North catchment, the Amendment applies a PAO to the existing Yakka Basin to facilitate future upgrades to Council‘s drainage infrastructure. Access and further development of the basin can be undertaken in stages as each land parcel is developed, however the PAO applies to the entire portion of the site to ensure consistency.
The Amendment was exhibited from 20 April 2017 to 30 May 2017 in accordance with the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
A Planning Panel was requested to review proposed Amendment C193 to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme and all submissions received during exhibition of the Amendment. The Panel Hearing was held over 10 days between 24 July and 11 August 2017.
The Panel Report was received by Council on 9 October 2017 and it detailed the Planning Panel’s findings and recommendations.
At the 20 March 2018 Ordinary Council Meeting, Council resolved to split Amendment C193 into Part 1 (Public Acquisition Overlay) and Part 2 (Lascorp Site) in accordance with the recommendations of the Planning Panel Report. Council resolved to adopt Amendment C193 Part 1 and submit to the Minister for Planning for approval.
On the 21 May 2018, the Amendment was approved under delegation from the Minister for Planning.
The Amendment came into operation on the date that notice was published in the Government Gazette, being 7 June 2018.
