The Queens Gardens will light up this Sunday with tinsel, glow sticks and stage flares for the annual Carols by Candlelight event. After last year’s Carols by Candlelight event was moved online due to COVID-19, the festival will return in 2021 to the Queens Gardens for a COVID safe event this Sunday from 6.30pm.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Councillor Kim O’Keeffe said this year’s event promised an exciting program of performers.
“For newcomers to the event, the audience will be amazed to experience this year’s carols and talented local performers, keeping everyone entertained all night,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
“This is the perfect opportunity to relax with your family and friends and enjoy everything that represents Christmas and to welcome in the New Year. If you are unable to join us on the evening then don’t fear on missing out, Carols will also be available to watch online through Council’s website and social media.”
The star-studded community cast will feature some of Greater Shepparton’s finest, singing everyone’s favourite holiday songs. Providing the Christmas feast will be Kiwanis Club Shepparton, Mr Sheppy, M&R Coffee, Grill on Wheels and Jam Packed Donuts, and the night will light up with stands of glow in the dark sticks and special pyrotechnic stage effects.
Remember to bring chairs, cushions and rugs to allow for a comfortable evening. This is a COVID Safe event and attendees must check in and show proof of vaccination upon entry. Please come prepared with the Service Victoria App or physical copy of vaccination status (or proof of medical exemption).
