To celebrate International Day of Volunteers on 5 December, Greater Shepparton City Council would like to say thank you to those people in the community who give their time for the benefit of others.
Council has more than 1000 registered volunteers who assist to deliver services and activities including Meals on Wheels, Social Connections, animal foster care, Street Rider Night Bus Service and more.
Greater Shepparton Mayor Cr Dinny Adem said without volunteers, many services and activities would not happen.
“Volunteers are involved in every aspect of our community, from schools to service clubs, to sporting clubs to community organisations,” Cr Adem said.
“These people give their time in order to make our community a better place and on behalf of Council, I would like to sincerely thank all volunteers for what they do.”
