The celebrations included something for everyone, with free art activities, face painting, entertainment and food on offer. Local young people were able to come along and try out the new space built just for them.
Greater Shepparton City Council Acting Director Community Amanda Tingay is pleased to see Stage 1 of the project complete, resulting in a space that is open, shaded, colourful and relaxing.
“Each Youth SPOT is unique to their town, and it is great to see the young people enjoying the space which has been designed for young people by young people. The space features power and lots of seating options, allowing young people to gather, socialise, play and simply hang out.
“I would like to thank the Undera community for their assistance in bringing this space to fruition, and the local young people for the assistance with the design. I hope the community enjoys their new space,” said Ms Tingay.
Four new Stage 1 Youth SPOTS will be built across Greater Shepparton this financial year.
