Greater Shepparton City Council’s Senior Festival grants for 2018 have opened and the community is encouraged to apply by 5.00pm Friday 11 May 2018.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Community Kaye Thomson said the Seniors Festival grants are a great opportunity for the community to get financial assistance for the coordination of events that have a particular focus on the participation of seniors within our community.
“Council provides assistance to community organisations for worthwhile projects that meet the criteria. There are lots of individuals and groups in our municipality that could do with a helping hand and we are keen to provide funds to see some of these projects off the ground,” said Ms Thomson.
“The Seniors Festival will occur in October 2018, the grant is intended to support a range of activities and events that will allow seniors to participate in physical activities or attend social events and functions.
“Priority for the grant will be given to projects that demonstrate lasting benefits to the senior community of Greater Shepparton, are accessible to the senior community, delivery value for money and based upon an identified need within the senior community” said Ms Thomson.
The Seniors Festival Grants will support community wide projects and activities, providing outcomes that are accessible to the whole community.
Seniors Festival grants of up to $200 will be a one-off basis and must be based in Greater Shepparton and be not for profit. For further information and eligibility please visit the website.
