Greater Shepparton City Council is asking residents for their feedback on play equipment for a new family precinct at the northern end of Victoria Park Lake.
The feedback from residents will be used to help select the main play equipment at the Family Precinct for the entire community to use.
Council is allocating approximately $350k for the new family play area that will include new playground equipment suitable for toddlers, primary school aged children and teenagers. The playground will include a flying fox, swings and other exciting play structures and areas of shade.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Kim O’Keeffe said it will be great for more families to be able to enjoy a rejuvenated Victoria Park Lake playground area.
“The family precinct project is part of the Victoria Park Lake Master Plan and will enable more Greater Shepparton residents to enjoy the area around the lake”.
“The new play structures will add another dimension to the park and will surely keep the children entertained and help them burn off some energy, so please make sure you provide your feedback,” said Cr O’Keeffe.
Along with the new toilets, the family precinct will be located to ensure this potential utilisation of the area is improved at the northern end of Victoria Park Lake. (Whilst the Masterplan specified renovation of the toilets would occur, Council is actually building new toilets in a more accessible location.)
Feedback will be received via the following methods until Friday 9 March 2018:
The online survey via Council’s Community Consultation webpage at http://greatershepparton.com.au/council/consultation
In person at Council offices - 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton
Council staff will be onsite at Victoria Park Lake for your feedback:
Location: Victoria Park Lake, Northern End near the Skate park
Date and Time: Friday 23 February 5.00pm to 7.00pm
Date and Time: Monday 26 February 5.00pm to 7.00pm
During these times residents will also be able to look over the plans for the new toilet block which will also be completed before July.
