The graduation ceremony was attended by the participants and their friends, families, mentors and other community leaders.
The program commenced in April and aims to give participants practical skills that they may utilise in their various roles throughout our community, whilst increasing their own leadership potential.
Participants attended fortnightly workshops and worked on a number of projects to apply their newly acquired skills in a practical way.
Participants worked on three community projects throughout the program:
- Many Hands for Mental Health – a DL card and poster outlining mental health services in Greater Shepparton.
- GV Star Weavers - The One Million Stars to End Violence projects encouraged individuals, groups and communities to join in the conversation of ending violence across the word and weave one million stars by July 2017.
- Faces of Shepparton - To acknowledge and celebrate the diverse group of people that live and work in the Greater Shepparton region with photographs displayed in locations in Shepparton and on social media.
Applications for the 2017 leadership program will open soon.
