Council releases Draft Congupna Recreation Reserve Master Plan for public exhibition

Greater Shepparton City Council released the Draft Congupna Recreation Reserve Master Plan for public exhibition from Wednesday 22 April to Friday 22 May 2020.

The Congupna Recreation Reserve plays a vital role in the provision of open space, sport, recreation, community and event opportunities for Greater Shepparton.

Council identified the need to develop a Mater Plan to provide a strategic framework for the future planning and development of the reserve.

The Draft Master Plan outlines six key priorities for the Recreation Reserve which are:

  • Heating and cooling in the Community Hall
  • Toilet upgrades and compliance in the Community Hall
  • Minor upgrades and repairs to the football change rooms
  • An electronic scoreboard
  • New community change room clubroom facility
  • Football oval and netball court lighting

“As a home to a primary school, a football and cricket oval and tennis and netball courts, the Recreation Reserve is a huge part of Congupna’s identity,” Mayor Cr Seema Abdullah said.

“By consulting and agreeing on the key components of a Master Plan for the Reserve, Council is able to plan for any future developments with the knowledge that the community has had input into and supports the priorities and general layout. The Plan identifies six key priorities, and we look forward to seeing how they progress.”
