Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking community feedback on the draft 2022-2026 Universal Access and Inclusion Plan (UAIP) which was developed following feedback received from the community earlier this year.
The draft plan exhibits key Council priorities that will be implemented over the next four years including but not limited to better choice of pathways that lead to education, employment and volunteering opportunities.
Greater Shepparton Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe said “I encourage everyone to take some time to review the draft plan and provide their feedback. We want to make sure Greater Shepparton is accessible and inclusive to everyone within the community and visitors that come to our region. The plan identifies what we need to do over the next four years to make this happen.”
“We value what our community has to say, and expressing their thoughts will provide us with the opportunity to amend the draft before it is adopted. The plan will be implemented over the next four years, so this is a real opportunity to have your say on how Council will work to foster inclusion, access and equity for all,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
The plan can be accessed and feedback provided online from Wednesday 20 October 2021 to Friday 19 November 2021 on the Shaping Greater Shepp consultation website. Feedback and comments received will be used to complete the plan prior to submission for final adoption and registered with the Australian Human Rights Commission.
To provide feedback on the draft Council Plan, head over to the Shaping Greater Shepparton website.
If you require assistance to complete your submission, please contact Council at council@shepparton.vic.gov.au or via (03) 5832 9700.
