The redevelopment of the Shepparton Law Courts is underway with plans to ensure the community is fully informed on the progress by the construction contractor.
ADCO Constructions (Vic) have been appointed for the Shepparton Law Courts Redevelopment Works – ECI Phase. ADCO are a leading privately owned national construction company employing in excess of 400 people nationwide.
ADCO are excited to partner with Court Services Victoria (CSV) on this landmark project both for CSV and the local Shepparton community. ADCO want to engage the local community in the project and provide opportunities for local suppliers and subcontractors.
These opportunities include:
Information Sessions
Monthly community information sessions will be held to report on the construction progress of the Shepparton Law Courts. To be held at an available community centre.
Construction Site Experience and Fundraiser
ADCO propose to open up the Shepparton Law Courts construction site once a month for members of the Shepparton community to take a guided tour. We also propose to consult with Court Services Victoria to organise for a charity to run a fundraiser in the form of a sausage sizzle with all proceeds going directly to the charity.
Timelapse Video
ADCO propose to utilise a camera which will provide time lapse images of construction to a web portal for members of the community to watch and track construction progress.
Information Kiosk
ADCO proposed to provide a kiosk on the perimeter of the construction site to provide information to the public about what is currently happening onsite. Windows looking out onto the construction site could be placed within the kiosk so members of the community can get a real time view of the construction action onsite.
Hoarding Artwork by local school(s)
ADCO will look involve local schools to create an artwork for the solid hoarding around the construction site that runs under the gantry. Students would be able to create and paint an artwork onto the solid hoarding.
Newsletter
ADCO will create a monthly newsletter with construction updates of the Shepparton Law Courts and a section where local trades can advertise their business. Interested community members could register to receive this newsletter via e-mail or view on the Greater Shepparton Council website.
Local Training Opportunities
We have proposed to be involved with Goulburn Ovens TAFE to provide vocational training opportunities. Specifically, ADCO propose to employ a local apprentice who would start working on the Shepparton Law Courts Redevelopment project for its duration. The apprentice would continue on with ADCO once the Shepparton Law Courts project is complete. ADCO anticipate that six positions over the course of the project will be created through ADCO and its subcontractors.
Project Completion
In conjunction with Court Services Victoria, ADCO will be conducting public information sessions demonstrating and explaining the operation of a court upon project completion.
Subcontractors & Suppliers
ADCO are now entering the final stage of the pricing process and request expressions of interest from capable subcontractors and suppliers. Expressions of interest can be submitted to estmelb@adcoconstruct.com.au
The main works component of the project is due for commencement onsite early April 2016. ADCO welcomes the opportunity to work with the Greater Shepparton community on a Statement project such as this.
