The Energy Efficiency workshop is the next level of thinking when it comes to energy efficiency in your own home. This two hour workshop will take you beyond the brochures, developing your understanding of energy and electricity and how this relates to your own appliances and electricity bill.
The workshop will be delivered by Rob Carolane, an expert facilitator with a sound understanding of sustainability and considerations when making sustainable purchases. Rob has maintained an independent power supply at home for over 30 years and is familiar with the dilemmas faced when comparing capital, operating, and lifecycle costs of decisions. He will work with you to understand the considerations for making wise decisions about lighting and other energy-using purchases.
“The energy efficiency workshop can help residents learn more about saving money and becoming more energy efficient by explaining and assessing the energy consumption of household appliances and other things around the house,” said Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Dennis Patterson.
“Residents can make some simple changes, even if they are in rental properties. If you want to become more energy efficient, save some money or to simply gain a better understanding how electricity is calculated this workshop will be really useful,” he said.
“Greater Shepparton City Council is becoming more energy efficient and has changed over more than 600 street lights over the last year and the remaining will occur later on this year,” said Cr Patterson.
The workshops are free to all residents and are part of the Watts Working Better project; more workshops will take place in other participating councils.
