Get Active in April

Greater Shepparton residents are encouraged to get involved in the Premier’s Active April health and fitness challenge.

Premier’s Active April encourages all Victorians to commit to doing 30 minutes of physical activity a day during April. It’s free, it’s fun and it’s part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to get more people active and healthy.

Greater Shepparton City Council are offering participants a number of incentives to get active, including:

  • A free pass to the Shepparton Sports Stadium older adults fitness session
  • Half price miniature train rides at SPC KidsTown
  • 10 free visit passes to Aquamoves Lakeside Shepparton which can be used for either Family Swim Pass, Group Fitness Session or Gecko Kids Fitness Session suitable for 5-12 year olds.

Once people sign up to Active April they will receive an email with their free passes to Aquamoves, the Stadium and KidsTown which they will need to print out and take with them to redeem the offers.

Council’s Director Community Kaye Thomson encouraged families to get active and healthy while enjoying our fantastic health and fitness facilities.

“Greater Shepparton has some fantastic walking paths and exercise facilities so it’s easy to do 30 minutes of exercise,” Ms Thomson said.

“It’s also a great opportunity to exercise with your friends and family members and compare your results against each other at the end of the challenge. Exercising with other people can help you stay on track and motivated throughout the month.” For more information or to register, visit https://www.activeapril.vic.gov.au/ .
