The Victorian Seniors Festival runs annually throughout the month of October, celebrating the more than one million Victorians aged 60 plus who make such a valuable contribution to our society.
The festival is focussed on getting older Victorians out and about in their local community, with more than 2,000 events and activities to be held around the state as well as a host of activities and events to be held in the Greater Shepparton.
Over 25 activities and events will be held in Greater Shepparton for local seniors. Events will get participants up and moving, tapping into their creative flair, meeting a host of like-minded people and enjoying the fresh spring air.
Participate in a River Heritage Walk and Talk, enjoy tea and scones in the park or see a performance by country music icon Tania Kernaghan,
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Shane Sali, encourages seniors to get involved.
“Council is proud to support the Victorian Seniors Festival and is thrilled this years’ activities will allow for the community to come together in person after the impact of COVID 19. The Festival not only provides great entertainment, but also encourages our Greater Shepparton seniors to live healthy and active lifestyles, and to get in involved and engaged in our community” said Cr Sali.
Further event details are available online at greatershepparton.com.au, at Council’s Welsford St Offices and at local community hubs and agencies.
