Illegal dumping of rubbish

Greater Shepparton City Council has noticed an increase in illegal dumping of rubbish around the Dookie area.

Manager Environment Greg McKenzie said “we are asking residents to be diligent and dispose of their waste correctly. Residents found dumping rubbish illegally would incur a fine of $295.”

“There are a number of items of rubbish that can be taken to any Greater Shepparton City Council Transfer Station in domestic quantities for free” said Mr McKenzie.

Free items include:

-       Paper and cardboard

-       Polystyrene

-       Glass bottles and jars

-       Paint

-       Fluorescent tubes

-       Televisions

-       VCR

-       DVD players

-       Computer equipment including monitors and printers

-       Car batteries and household batteries

-       Silage wrap (must be baled, not loose)
