Greater Shepparton City Council is reminding residents that it is their last chance to provide feedback to help shape the 2023/2024 Budget.
For the second year in a row, Council is consulting with the community ahead of drafting the annual Budget to ensure its content reflects the needs and desires of residents. Last year Council received a large amount of community feedback prior to the document being drafted. This feedback helped compile the Budget ahead of the formal community consultation process.
Each year Council’s Budget funds and supports many different services and programs along with a large capital works program. Council have developed an online survey via the Shaping Greater Shepp website which asks locals questions about this funding to find out which services and programs are most used. The survey also asks residents which capital works programs they would most like to see funds allocated to.
Mayor Councillor Shane Sali urged residents to fill in the survey and tell Council what they would like to see funded in coming years.
“This pre-draft consultation is really important as it allows Council to get on the front foot of what residents would like to see funding allocated for,” he said.
“Last year this consultation was extremely useful and was the reason certain funding was allocated for major developments and upgrades across the region.”
Community consultation closes on Friday 9 December. Visit Shaping Greater Shepparton to view the survey and have your say.
