Bridge road Toolamba is to remain closed due to ongoing safety concerns.
A large tree has fallen across the road, and is caught in another tree on the other side which is preventing it from falling onto the road.
Contractors have been scheduled to remove the tree tomorrow, Tuesday 18 October.
The steel barriers placed across the road to maintain safety for motorists was removed by a member of the public on the weekend after cutting and removing padlocks. This creates a serious safety issue which places everyone in danger.
In addition, the road pavement is in very poor condition after the affects of flood water, and has been closed to prevent further damage. if drivers continue to remove safety barriers or drive around them, the road will require major works causing local motorists even longer delays. Similarly the shoulders of the road are very soft and could prove dangerous to the travelling public.
Greater Shepparton City Council asks all motorists to obey local traffic restrictions, as it is always for good reason.
